Player Name: Angela
Character's Name: Pit
Character username:
pitticus or
raw_angel_powerGame Series: Kid Icarus
Canon point: A measly amount of time after the events of Kid Icarus: Uprising
CR Reboot (Yes or No): No
Age (If there is a change): No significant difference is noteworthy.
Personality Changes: Pit’s basic personality still remains the same, but over the course of his adventure, he was exposed to situations and challenges that he’d never faced before, like creating a dark version of himself, turn into a ring and then a girl and then a dog and then Magnus, having Palutena discard him and oppose humans entirely, be digested by an ornery Underworld god, go to SPACE... Y-yeah, he’s been through a lot I would say.
Here is an article on Pit.
If that is not enough, then welcome to BULLET POINT HELL:
► When I first apped Pit he was pretty... bad at talking. Sometimes he messed up his syntax, worded things awkwardly, wasn’t used to a lot of things like technology and the customs of his peers... This has changed significantly. He’s much better at talking and can spin a few witty remarks here and there. He’s also a lot more accustomed to concepts he was stranger to before. Like REMOTE CONTROLS and PIZZA DELIVERY and PLANKING, oh my.
Okay, not planking I was pulling your leg about that. He has yet to comprehend this hip trend called “planking”. Also, to patch up the discrepancy between my initial interpretations of Angel Land (mostly Skyworld) being completely archaic and the anachronistic portrayal in Uprising where they constantly make modern references, I am going to say that it magically underwent a renovation where everyone suddenly “got with the times” since Pit was gone. This does not apply to the humans, however. At least, as far as I care to know. IT DOESN’T MATTER.
► Needless to say, other issues that contradict canon may be subject to retcon. I cannot think of any right now besides minute details that are not worth mulling over.
► Being back with Palutena for so long, he uh... swung back into a kind of dependency on her. He was never really the independent sort of guy to begin with, but when he comes back to Smash Academy, it will be pretty bad. Mostly he has trouble making decisions without guidance, especially hers. Expect him to feel lost often. That, or make stupid life choices.
► His new favorite hobby is now video games. Arguably hot springs as well. I feel embarrassed for you, Pit.
► Pit can now use 9 different kinds of weapons with proficiency!!! Awesome. This doesn’t really have much to do with his personality, but who cares. It’s a change.
► Some profound issues met Pit’s attention and therefore he is beginning to build his own perspective on them based in experience: humans and their inherent greed leading to their own destruction (as well as encroaching upon nature), the fate of many souls after death and how disturbingly trivial they become, being betrayed by an ally, having the thing most precious to you stripped away and distorted completely, and gaining a twin of sorts who stands for everything you don’t and has a will of his own- leaving Pit with scathing remarks about how he’s nothing but a lapdog on a short chain because of Palutena.
History Changes (If any): Oh, yeah!
Read and weep. …Actually, that’s a lot of junk to read, so I don’t expect any of you modlies to get too involved with catching up to Pit, but that’s the story of Uprising! Before those events (which spanned 3 years about), Pit mostly screwed around playing video games and soaking in hot springs. HOW LAZY CAN YOU BE... Actually, he got some training in there too, but he was pretty reluctant, haha. He also spent a lot of time with Palutena. They're totally pals.
ADDITIONAL POINT OF DISCUSSION:I am hoping to retain Pit’s breakage of the fourth wall to a conditional degree. I am going to do my best to prevent it from blowing characters’ minds or ruining someone’s rp experience, though. What I like to imagine is that the characters (or most of them) of the Kid Icarus universe are aware of the “multiverse” that essentially encompasses all video game canons. This means that, to use an example, Pit has played games like Super Mario Bros.!! And he’s met Mario before!!! WOW!!!! You’d think that was a mind-blowing concept for Pit, but it’s not. So what, some guy was amazing enough to have his own video game series? I’m treating the situation less like the characters are going to come to a realization that they are fictional and more like they are really cool celebrity heroes from different “universes” that are all intimately tied together. It’s best not to think too hard about it.
Since this is a tricky concept to play with, I’m going to set up a permissions post. It will ask players whether they are okay with having their character be aware that Pit knows all about them, and will mostly deal with the characters involved in big Nintendo franchises like Zelda or Starfox. Pit’s going to be more of a Nintendo fanboy than anything else, so he’s not going to be familiar with every canon known to man. I will also make sure that if the player is uncomfortable with having this pre-established CR where Pit already knows your character, that they also have the ability to opt out. I can find a way.
To further secure this position, I will also assume that maybe Palutena told him to treat situations like this delicately, that he shouldn’t run around telling people all about their adventures. “It might be hard for them to understand why you’re Mario's biggest fan, Pit.” Something like that.
If you can suggest a better way to handle this, then I am open to hearing it. Feel free to contact me or kidnap me and whisk me away to mod tower.
